Free Stuff

When signing up for your own offer, ASU recommended the eAuction Tutor on page 2 because it costs only $1.95, but you must call to cancel the membership before 14 days. The phone number is (801) 578-9020, option 2.

Have fun trying this out. CNN gave a report on it and says it is legit.

Brad's Readings

I must confess that I do not read very many books, but here are two that I highly recommend and they are not that long.

I found this book the other day at Deseret Book. I'm sure a lot of you have heard of the "Five Love Languages". This book adapts the five love languages to a marriage relationship, but there are a couple others that adapt the love languages to children or teenagers. Read this book! It will change your life!

This content of this book was originally recorded on cassette tape by Truman G. Madsen. He gave eight wonderful discourses on the Prophet and they are in this book, with additional references and footnotes. I first listened to some of the tapes in the mission field. If you are looking for some insight into the Prophet's life with mostly unknown stories about his physical, mental, emotional and spiritual character, this is the place. Madsen also covers many profound doctrinal topics with additional resources for those who read books like Jesus the Christ or Doctrines of Salvation.

Brooklyn's Favorite Spot

Sometimes Brooklyn gets really fussy and the only thing we can resort to is placing her on her changing table. For some reason she really likes to just lay there and look around her nursery.

Washington D.C.

I had the opportunity for the first half of Spring Break to fly out to our nation's capital. It was amazing to see our government's headquarters for the first time. I was sent out there to interview for a summer finance internship position with a large company. Fortunately I was able to spend an evening touring downtown.

My first subway ride. It is quite an efficient mode of transportation.

I never realized how impressive each building is.

WWII Memorial: Each pillar represents a different state.

The Washington Monument was probably my favorite. It's incredible how straight it is for being so tall. The lighting power really makes the monument stand out against the dark sky.

It was difficult to get good quality shots at night with our camera. Unfortunately I was alone so I am not in any of the pictures.

SPRING BREAK FOR THE BOWLES

Well, this has been a fun week! Our little family ventured to our "spot", where it all began years ago for Bradley and me... FOUNTAIN HILLS! (also where Brad proposed to me) We went there on Friday. Some highlights included: fun little picnic eating Wendy's, running into some good friends we hadn't seen since our wedding (Debby and Matt Erickson), beautiful sunshine, lots of wind, the fountain going off, and geocaching. For those who don't know, people all over the U.S. take their G.P.S (global positioning satellite) units and record the coordinates of where they have left a treasure for others to find with their own GPS units. After finding the locations off the internet, we found the place where the treasure was supposed to be at the park...and yet...NO TREASURE! so we tried another location for a different geocache and.....nothing. anyways, after two days of treasure seeking for five different geocaches--STILL NO LUCK! Brad and I decided we are either crappy at this new hobby of ours or people have stolen these hidden treasures. One day we hope to be able to actually find the treasure so we can leave something of ours there for the next person to find.

Daddy with the nina sleeping in the baby bjorn, the GPS unit, and the fountain going off! What a perfect day!

Our little picnic!

Where the cache was supposed to be....zoom in to see the cool horse made out of anything you could imagine! VERY CLEVER!

In other news, I finally mustered up the courage to chop my hair! I went to HAIR DO salon and had Jessica something cut my hair. i just told her to cut it short A-line and then she could do whatever else she wanted. I'm very happy with the end result because I no longer feel frumpy and it's a lot faster to blow-dry without so much hair! Plus, being a new mommy, it has been fun to have a new "do"! i think I'll make it a tradition of getting a new hair style every time I have a baby!

BEFORE

AFTER

(p.s. After taking this picture I realized I needed to brush the back of my hair to smoothen it out a bit...)

I just thought this was a classic picture of Brooklyn that she'll enjoy looking at when she's older. She was NOT a happy child during this photo shoot. Maybe because her newborn-sized dress does in fact, still NOT fit her.
